So I'm slacking in posting!!

My view from March 7 Meet Hooch!! What a sweetheart!! St. Patrick's Day at the beach, was a bit too chilly & a lot too windy!! My view from today March 21,2013 Nurses are ready for Easter!

My View Yesterday

So they changed my appt. from Thursday to Wednesday, cause the Dr. is off. This was my view, had my own room & had only ONE CHAIR in it. Was way more roomy than the other one. Only cell service sucked in there!! Was right by the in-coming door & everyone coming in had to look in my room I felt like a circus monkey!!! LOL Wasn't so great when they gave me a new Anti-nausea med in the IV made me nausea??? Plus it added 30 more minutes to my already 6 hours?? No THANKS!! So the GOOD NEWS!!! Chemo is working!!!! Has shrunk the tumor!!! So only have to go thru the rest of round 3, than one more round!!!!!!!!!!!!! So last chemo should be March 28th!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! Than on to Chapel Hill to find out when surgery is, CT scans, etc......... Oh forgot this part, I have a high white count so they put me on antibiotics, some of the side effects are crazy!!! It's Ciprofloxacin 500 mgs twice a day!!

Been slacking So spent 2 hours getting chemo on Valentine's Day & this was my view I made this for the nurses, so hopefully they will forgive me for being so crabby last week!!
 Saltine Cracker Candy
 40 salted saltine crackers (or enough to line your pan)
 1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
 2 cups milk chocolate or semisweet chocolate chips
(optional) 3/4 cup chopped pecans
 Preheat oven to 400. Line a 9x13-inch pan with aluminum foil. Line pan with saltine crackers in a single layer. In a small pot combine sugar and butter. Bring to a boil and continue boiling for 3 minutes. Mixture should be a deep caramel color. Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Place back in oven for 1 minute. Remove from oven and spread melted chocolate chips over crackers. Top with chopped nuts. Allow to cool and break into pieces. Than I took some puff pastry & parmasan cheese & did this! I can't color my hair?? They say it's too hard on it?? LOOK at all that grey!!! I found out some stuff on Friday about the surgery & I'm not really happy about it :( They said it was discussed in Chapel Hill?? Both my Mom & I don't remember it?? I have 2 CT scans with contrast on Friday morning. Ughhhhhh have to drink some white stuff tomorrow night than another at 6am, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww than they might make me drink more there??!!!!!!!!!!! Hope not!!

Meet Buddy Love he"s a 9 year old golden retriever. Sweet as can be!! I was in a 2 chair room with my Mom than got a roommate. Older lady & her husband. I felt trapped in the corner & could not wait to get out of there!!! Plus the volunteer stood in the doorway & chatted away, made it so much worse! Cell signal was weak in there too??!!
I went out to lunch after with my Mom & her friend & grandkids. Little man was sporting these boots!! I love them!!!
I"m feeling tired, sick to my tummy & like I got run over by a bus.

The days that follow the first dose

I feel like I have the flu & a stomach bug mixed together. My face is on fire, I'm tired & food is not appealing at all The one anti nausea medicine makes me sick so when they called to check on me yesterday she said stop taking it & try the other one. It's really weird one minute I'll be fine than the next I'll be violently sick & break out in a cold sweat. So not liking it!!!Ugghhhhhh my butt & back hurt from sitting so long. The nurse said I was a real trooper for my first time!! So I go back on the 24th @ 10:30 for just Gemzar it's just about 2 hours for that one & it burns my hand going in?? I have a nice bruise on my right hand & it hurts to touch! Trying different things to eat & keep down. Tried a soft boiled egg & toast this morning blech......... too slimy but Harley enjoyed it!! I'm doing OK with grape Gatorade,weak tea,water, hot coco, graham crackers & saltines.

So the journey began

I downloaded the blogger app to my phone last Thursday while I was sitting getting my first dose of Chemo drugs. I was there for 6 hours!! I had 2 great friends, one took me & stayed awhile. Than the other came & stayed the rest of the time. She also took me home. She brought me a goodie bag of some fun colorful slipper socks, pens, pad, date book, magazine, purple turban with flower!!! Oh & a big pack of tissues. She brought her netbook was fun to see one in action. She had lots of pictures of her 4 month old beautiful grandson!!
