Last day of March???

Gosh knows this month has flown by!!
Thank you all for the birthday wishes!! We had a great time celebrating all weekend!! Friday DH & I spent it outside whacking down over-grown trees & bushes in the backyard! Fun right?? LOL boy were we sore!! I had to work Saturday 10 to 2, than I went to a Ladies Only party. I sat next to someone I didn't know, but she was a hoot we both laughed till we cried!! She has the same silly sense of humor I do!! Was a blast! DH worked on Saturday too plus a couple of hours after church on Sunday! Yippee!! Than we went to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D!! I so totally loved it!!

Spring has arrived here!! I planted yellow squash & have 5 coming up already? I also planted parsley, oregano & basil. Parsley & oregano have sprouted too!! I hope to get some pictures tomorrow!

Ekkkkk I turned 52?!

tee hee I celebrated my 52th birthday on Thursday!!
I worked all day doing hair than DH took me to Red Robin for my free birthday burger! Yummy was good except our waitress was a snot! LOL
We went to Ruby Tuesday's last night cause I got a free birthday burger from them too! Our waitress there more than made up for the other one! This one was fun!! We had a great time!!
than we hit CVS I had a birthday coupon from them!Plus a coupon for a free body wash or cookies or brownie. I chose the body wash & used the 3.00 off one for a bucket of sweet basil.So all in all I spent 83 cents there! Sweet!!
Than we went to Walgreens bummer no coupons. But on the clearance isle. Wow I got 3 candles $6.99 marked down to $1.79, 1 pack tea lights .99 marked down to .49, 4 holiday gift sets $14.99 marked down to $3.75??? All this for 20 bucks & change!!!! Wahoo!!

Boy yesterday was a whirlwind of activity!!!
We went to the beach, DH has got a house to paint out there. Got all set with the home owner, except she wants to start it on Thursday.
hit a yard sale on the way home DH bought me a queen duvet cover, I want it for the fabric. It's really cool! Plus a bread-maker, mine died awhile back!! So yippee!!
Then we had a surprise birthday pig picking to go to last night. I took a baked rice casserole & every bit of it went!! All the food was fabulous!!
Than I found a new to me site & I've made 2 recipes from it already!!
It's called Southern Plate!! My gosh hurry go check it out!!
I made Mama's Mandrin orange cake so hopefully it will come out like Grandma's.
It has to sit in the fridge for 3 days? LOL it's killing hubby to look at it & not cut it!!



Than my giveaway wall hanging arrived, let me tell ya's the pictures do it no justice!! All the corners on the left side are all cut outs & hand sewn on! Judi at Green Fairy's machine quilting is unbelievable fabulous!! Thank you Em!!

It's from Em Celebrates blog ( I snagged her picture) & quilted by Judi at Green Fairy Quilts! I haven't received it yet but I'm excited to see it!!

These 9 hour days at work are getting to me. I can't seem to get my act together plus PMS & all that!! Ugghhhhh

I took the Honey Lemon chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight, was really good, it's a keeper here!!
Honey Lemon Chicken Marinade
4 chicken breasts, boneless & skinless
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup honey

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, lemon juice and honey, stirring well. Put chicken in a ziploc bag or freezer container and pour sauce over top. Refrigerate for about 1 hr, turning every 15-20 minutes. Place container or bag in freezer.

To cook:
Thaw chicken in refrigerator over night. Remove chicken from marinade and barbeque on the grill, or cook in the oven at 350F for 35-45 minutes (time will vary depending on chicken) until juices run clear and thermometer registers 165F.
I used cooked chicken breasts & just heated in the microwave & put over rice. Yummmmmmmmmm

Table Runner from Hello!!

I can not believe all the grief this table runner caused!! I can't tell you how many times the blocks were taken apart?? LOL First it was I used the wrong color green than it was because I put them on upside down or realized the side pieces were not all the background color! Ughhh then they would not line up just like on the points when the red border is not lined up still. I tell ya Oh crap soon became way worse & the blocks looked really pretty sailing up in the air!! Seam ripper got quite the work out!

DH made it home around 10:30 am he was so tired, he took a shower & I made him a ham & cheese omelet. He hit the recliner & was out for 5 hours!!
It was over 60 here & sunny, so I played outside cutting over grown bushes back. Long way to go!! One rose bush tore my arms to shreds & that's when I quit!! Yippie my chives are sprouting!!

I threw the pork roast in the crock pot with a can of apricots, some chicken broth & a slash of mustard! It came out great.Leftovers were bagged for the freezer! The sirloin steak was sliced thin & stir fried with some seasoned salt, than bagged for the freezer. Still have the 2 chicken breasts not done??

I have a sirloin pork roast, I thought it a loin but oh well & 2 more chicken breasts to cook today!! Oh & another sirloin steak!
I also have to work 10 to 2 today.
DH left to go meet the guy about 3:15 yesterday. So guess they got on the road about 4:30. He called about 8:30 the stopped outside of Richmond for gas.

I've been a cooking fool this morning! I took out a cut up chicken last night & it's in the oven. I have a pot of seasoned green beans going & a small pot of lima beans too. I made beef & broccoli, honey lemon chicken, plus a pot of sauce. All this is for the freezer. To make it easy during the week. I just pulled out a pork loin too!

I feel like I've been gone forever!1
I forgot to tell you what happened yesterday?? My brains are scrambled! Plus it was hubby's birthday Wednesday. I got him a older laptop & spent a lot of time on it last weekend to get it all updated, plus anti virus, set up his email in outlook. Then I signed him up for a bunch of birthday clubs & printed out all the coupons for him!
Well after my 9:00 haircut DH said let's take your truck up the street. So we go up the street & they are closed, mechanic quit??
So we cross back over & go to this other place they want 130 bucks. So we go to 2 more places & ones higher & the other one has no one there to give prices. So DH said lets go get something to eat. We meet at Hardees, he goes to order & I borrow his phone cause I forgot mine. I call Joker to see if he knows somebody that's not gonna over charge. He said if you get the pads I'll do it on Sunday for nothing!! yippie So DH comes with the food & I tell him. He's like cool!! So then our Pastor come in & comes over to say Hi & what's up & all that. DH asks him where he takes his car for repairs. He asked what we needed done, he tells DH to get the pads & to bring it by his house at 12:30 & him & his brother will do it!! I was about in tears!! DH gets home about 2 & said he was going back to the Pastors house. He said the Pastor's house had mold growing on it & was going to power wash it for him!! So everybody is happy!!
I did my other 2 haircuts & then got the binding on the downey quilt & got it washed & dried. Need to get the label on it!
