Just step, step, breath, breath is what's getting me by!

So it's not been a Happy New Year so far :(
I had a couple as room mates & it wasn't a good thing! My brother's had to rescue me!! Thank God!!
I did finish quilting a quilt for Mom!! The quilts I'm just quilting for her, she did the tops! It's not the greatest picture.

She pieced this table topper for me, just needs the binding.

Than I made a raggy lap quilt for my DBIL out of some of DH's paint pants, has royal blue flannel for the back. Lots of tears making this!!

Than DH bought me a new camera for Christmas in Oct. It's sweet but bittersweet if you know what I mean! I took this picture of him while we were talking about the settings. It's the one I used for the memorial service, I just love it!!

My dear, I nearly lost hubby 6 years ago now and it has only been within the last year that I can breath without hyperventilating when thinking about it. I can not imagine what you are going through. Your quilts are beautiful but I can not imagine how you are even quilting them. Though I do suppose there is therapy in the process and it is certainly better than the vegetative state I imagine I would assume. I can't do much for you, but I am here to talk both at my personal email (aredeasnest@gmail.com) and even just through blogging. You are not alone, and though what strength I have to offer you is little, please know that you can have it all.

Pretty quilting on your Mom's quilts. That is an awesome quilt from the pants. Loaded with memories. How sweet to do that for your BIL.

I know from experience that keeping busy helps. I hope that your friends and family know that it is okay to talk about DH and the good times. While it can bring tears, it is really healing.
The painters pants quilt is very special. I love that idea.
Your quilting on Mom's work looks great.

I was just thinking of you the other day. It does take time. But I am glad that you can stay a little busy. Your Mom's quilts are very pretty.

Love your Mom's quilt, and what a great idea about the one for your BIL. I keep thinking about that for my nephews - they were both in marching band (one a log longer than the other) and got shirts for the different shows each year. They'll never wear them again at some point, but it would be cool to make a quilt for them with all of those memories. Not that I knew hubs of course, but that is a great picture. :)

Soooooo glad you got rid of those pesky roommates....I have been thinking about your and worrying as well.

What a handsome man you had there. So glad to see you keeping busy and now with the dramma out of your home you can grieve. It will take a long time but it is good you have family you can depend on. Give that brother of yours a hug....(I a sure you did).

Hey there,
Glad to see you - been thinking about how you've been doing. Your hubby was a cutie! He's got the look of mischief in his pretty blue eyes! I know you must have a lot of great memories - I hope they can comfort you right now. I hope you can try and stay busy - gettin' through each day as it comes. We all are still praying for you :)

Love the idea of using Hubby's painting pants to make DBIL a quilt. I would imagine that most people would toss out those pants.

Your Mom's quilts are beautiful. I would imagine that sometimes quilting can be a bit therapeutic.

Laurie, I don't know much about quilting but it looks like the first one has quite an assortment of different patters, I love the colors and the morning glories around the edge. The table topper has a lot of red in it, like my kitchen. How sweet to make that quilt for you BIL, I can't even imagine how many tears you shed making that for him, you are so very thoughtful. You husband's blue eyes really show up good in that picture. So nice to have such a recent picture of him to treasure. Thinking of you often, dear lady.

The idea of the paint pants quilt is FABULOUS!! I am sure that it brought more than a few tears for you and for those who have seen it. How touching it must be.
