Time is just getting away??

Well time has just gotten away from me!!
Our weather has turned crazy?? It's cold & I don't like it!! Like right now is 39 & supposed to get up to 78. Tell me that's not crazy!

I'm feeling much better just a cold & it's settling in my chest. Coughing has got to stop! LOL

I went on Saturday to my friend Joker's, than went next door to the salon & boy the drama over there!! 3 of the girls left?? So there's only 2 in there now she's looking for a few more to replace the 3. Than I went to the store where I had my totes on commission & picked them up. I was reading the paper I got from them & there's no date on mine & for the life of me I can't remember when I took them?? I should look & see if I blogged about it??! But you only get 30 days than you can renew or take them out. Or they do whatever they want with them? So crazy & I panicked that they were going to do whatever!! LOL Than I found a hardware store over that way & got the fuse for the garage!! Yippiee I have power in the outlets again!! Than I had bought 2 family packs of chicken thighs so I browned them up in the dutch oven, than baked them. Froze some, ate some & going to make something with them tonight for dinner. We had leftover roast & veggies last night. I have this thing where if I make gravy & there's a five gallon bucket of it it's icky. But if there's a cup of it it's really good???
So of course there was a cup of gravy from the roast. So I googled made from scratch gravy & I found this one & it's really good!! Only next time I will cut it in half, I didn't really need 8 servings!! Oh well you live & you learn!

Basic all american brown gravy
Makes 8 Portions of Brown Gravy
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 quart cold beef broth (as high-quality as possible!)
salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation:
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes, until the mixture is golden-brown and smells like cooked pie crust. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Whisk in a cup of the cold beef broth, and then add the rest of the ingredients, except the salt and pepper.

Bring to a simmer, whisking, and then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste, and season with salt and pepper.

I don't blame you for getting the totes out of there! Wonder what is going on at that salon that 3 workers would quit?

glad you're feeling better. That cough is what drives me nuts! Still hacking...over a month later...ugh.

Your gravy sounds great. I made something very similar for salsbury steak the other night...although hubby had thought I had served him meatloaf? LOL
