So Monday night this got into my house!!!!!!!!! Ekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!
I borrowed this picture from the internet!! Cause I sure didn't get that close to it!!
Yes I screamed like a girl!!!!! So about all day I cleaned the living room, moving furniture, vacuumed, etc. Then I thought it was trapped in the fireplace cause I heard rustling around in there. No there was a bird in there!!!!!! Ughhhhhhhh So around 5pm I see this lizard running in the living room with Tango kitty in hot pursuit!!! She finally got it!! Yippiee for Tango kitty!!!! I got it in the long handled dustpan & threw it out the door!!!! And away he ran!!!! Than I went to try & get the bird out of the fireplace. Figured if I got a beach towel & covered the door it would fly into the towel & somehow get it out the door. But the poor thing was dead :( buried it outside!
I did finish the black & white tote & delivered it yesterday. But forgot to get a picture??
Easter was nice! After Church I went to my Mom's she made pork loin, mashed potatoes, broccoli, carrots, cucumber's in sour cream, a pound cake & fresh strawberries in a bit of suger, was yummy!!!! There was my little brother, SIL & my niece Skylar, Mom & me!! My older brother & older niece had to work. And my newphew went to his girlfriend's family's!
After everyone left I helped Mom put new belts on her sewing machines. One the tension was way off & neither of us could get it?? She got it right on Monday!! Yeah Mom!!!

Thank goodness for our kitties..to keep the 'critters' out!
Hi Laurie! Ooooh, you had a blue-tailed skink in your house! I know most of us ladies don't like lizards and stuff, but they are really pretty. I'm glad Tango got it for you but that it wasn't dead and was able to run away! So sorry the bird wasn't so lucky! :o( Hope you don't get any more surprises like that!
XOXO,
Cyndi
What a beautiful lizard! Was yours the same color or do they change their colors?
Poor birdie!
It sounds like your Easter was a wonderful feast.
A blue-tailed skink huh? Never even heard of those. I was guessing chameleon from the range of colors. Too funny! Sorry about the bird! At least he died from fright and not at the paws of the mighty Tango Kitty! :( Glad you had a nice Easter.
We have something similar here but they are all black and we call them skanks. Not a very nice sounding name for a not very nice critter. With our skanks if an animal eats them they are poisonous. Either the animal will die or be a bit deranged. We had a cat that loved to eat them for some reason. Whenever he did he would only be able to walk in circles for several days. When he needed to walk straight he would walk along a wall to stop him from going in circles. It was funny to watch after we realized he would be OK in a couple days. That was one strange cat. We ended up giving him to a neighbor because he spent so much time at his house anyways. His name was Mickey House because on the top of his head there was a M and an H.
Wow, the blue tailed skink is native to Australia. There are some other skinks in the US that have a blue tail when they are immature. I wonder if yours was one of those or an import.
I'd have been screaming right along with you!!! I'm glad you had such a nice Easter dinner, too.
YOW!! A snake lizzard once got into my house, and did I scream! Fortuately, my kids, who were little at that time, were playing with an empty box in the living room, and I managed to trap him with that, and get him out the door. Too much mother nature--
Oh, dear! Sounds like you are starting a zoo without even trying!
Eeek, Laurie! Although, I'm not as freaked by lizards as I am by mice. With all of the rain around here, I saw evidence of one in my house the other day...I'm still disinfecting everything. The cats are keeping vigil, but can't get at it---it is really making me (and them) nuts.
Alot of excitement going on over there....glad it all turned out well. In Samoa, that is an every day occurance, you learn to livein harmoney with them (NOT!!!)
Laurie, you sure are taking in a lot of animals lately, tee hee. That picture of the lizard is beautiful but I don't think I would want to see him running through my house. Your Easter dinner sounded wonderful. Was the tote you are talking about the one you posted the other day that I liked so much?
Tango, I have been so engrossed with my own grief, I did not know you had also gone through a loss. I am sooo sorry for you. Only 60 years old? I thought 60 was too young to be a widow. There are so many trials and tribulations facing us each day, just know you are in my heart and prayers. We will survive. It just hurts so bad.
